Ms. Tina Martinez, Director
The Director is responsible for the management and administration of the Human Resources Department. The Director coordinates human resource management and provides departments with technical support and advice.  She works directly with the President of the Nation in the administration of the Human Resource system.

  

 

Ms. Koy Perea, Assistant Director
The Assistant Director assists the Human Resource Department with the management and administration of the Human Resources system for the Jicarilla Apache Nation. Ms. Perea also provides departments with technical advice and support.  Ms. Perea supervises subordinate Human Resource staff and the day-to-day operations. Ms. Perea is responsible for the department budget and finances, training and travel schedules for the Human Resource Department.

Ms. Salena Gonzales, Program Specialist  (Staffing)
The Program Specialist's responsibilities are to work closely with department directors to ensure all steps of the hiring process are complete; screening of applications/resumes, conducting interviews and orientations of new employees.  Ms. Gonzales is also responsible for drafting and updating position descriptions and assisting with classification.

Mr. Angelo E. Rivas Sr., Program Specialist  (Staffing)
The Program Specialist's responsibilities are to work closely with department directors to ensure all steps of the hiring process are complete; screening of applications/resumes, conducting interviews and orientations of new employees. Mr. Rivas  is also responsible for drafting and updating position descrptions and assisting with classification. 
 

Ms. Shannon Velarde,  Adjudication and Grievances
The Grievance and Adjudication Specialist assures that employees of the Nation are provided fair treatment in employment while having their complaints heard.  In addition to Grievances, Ms. Velarde is also responsible for conducting Background Checks on all new employees whose positions directly relate to the Indian Child Welfare Act. 

__________,  Program Specialist  ( Classification and Compensation )
The Program Specialist maintains the Nation's Classification and Compensation system working with technical and analytical activities to ensure positions are accurately classified in labor groups and in compensation.  _______ will maintain a list  of position titles and salary for all departments. ________ works closely with Recruitment and Staffing. 

Mr. Robert Romero, Program Technician
The Data Technician oversees and processes all new employee Personnel Action Forms and pertinent data. Mr. Romero works closely with the Finance Department in updating and maintaining accurate files on all active and inactive employees and maintaining information in the HR Employee Database. 

Mr. Joseph Lucero, Receptionist
The Receptionist assists the entire Human Resources Staff with the day to day functions in their specific jobs. Mr. Lucero also serves as a front desk receptionist and helps all visitors that come into the Human Resources Office.

Mrs. Tamela Tafoya, Pension Specialist
The Pension Specialist works closely with employees who are interested in retiring from the Nation. Mrs. Tafoya provides retirement estimates, work history and years worked for the Nation. The Pension Specialist also assist employees with the 401k Savings Plan and ensures a secure financial retirement. 

Mr. Adrian Dixon, Pension Specialist
The Pension Specialist works closely with employees who are intested in retiring from the Nation. Mr. Dixon provides retirement estimates, work history and years worked for the Nation. The Pension Specialist also assist employees with the 401k Savings Plan and ensures a secure financial retirement.

Ms. Carla Martinez, Benefits Coordinator
Ms. Martinez is responsible for the management and administration of the Risk Management Department. On behalf of the Nation's Employees, Higher Education Students and Retirees, Ms. Martinez assists and coordinates eligibility and enrollment procedures for medical, dental and vision benefits. Ms. Martinez is also responsible for filing and following through until closing all Worker's Compensation, Auto, Property and General Liability insurance claims.

Ms. Robin Begaye, General Insurance Clerk
Ms. Begaye is responsible for establishing and maintaining required insurance plan records for the Nation Employees, Higher Education Students and Retirees. Ms. Begaye reviews and verifies completion and enrollment of all insurance applications. She also assists, reviews and processes claims and settlements for covered Beneficiaries.

Mr. Chris Holyfield, Safety Officer
Mr. Holyfield is responsible for conducting safety inspections for the Nation's Departments, this includes worksites, equipment and work practices. Mr. Holyfield also ensures all department employees are in compliance with the Nation's policies to operate department vehicles. This includes input of auto claim information into the Collective Data Fleet Program.
