Telecommunications Operator

Incumbent performs day-to-day Public Safety dispatch functions, including emergency and non-emergency telephone calls, handling radio operations, CAD and NCIC transactions. Will collect information and accurately transmit information to responding units. Incumbent will work various shifts, including weekends, holidays and maybe called back in normal days off.


1. High School Diploma or GED Certification (Attach Copy) 2. One (1) year of related work experience to include computer and typing skills. 3. Must possess a Valid State Drivers License (Attach Copy) 4. Obtain clearance to operate a Nations Vehicle thru SAMBA Check. 5. Certificates pertaining to job. (Attach copies) Must be Twenty-One (21) years of age or older. 6. Must submit a blank money order in the amount of $45.00 with your application. Meet with HR Representative to complete fingerprinting for the background check. 7. Complete “Release of Information” Form. 8. Complete “Criminal Records Release” Form and submit to the Nation’s Court. 9. Must successfully pass a background check, drug test, written test and an interview before the Police Review Board. 10. Never been convicted of a felony. (i.e. Domestic Violence, Child Abuse, DUI) 11. Never been convicted of any misdemeanor in the past three (3) years, including DUI and never been convicted of a felony. 12. Subject to mandatory and random drug testing. Successfully complete the following within One(1) year of hire and  maintain current all mandated Certification. 1. Communications-New  Mexico Department of Public Safety *(NMDP) and  Federal Law Enforcement Training Center *(FLETC) 2. New Mexico Emergency Medical Dispatch Certificate *(EMD) 3. National Crime Information Center Certificate *(NCIC)
